Polyurea is a polymer technology that is strong, elastic, flexible and resistant to abrasion and many chemicals. Some of the first commercial polyurea applications were automotive body parts that spring back on impact.

With the development of formulations that can be applied with plural-component spray equipment, polyurea can now be applied on-site, providing solutions to a wide variety of the challenges faced in the construction industry and in industrial applications.

Polyurea is what's known as a "fast set thick film material." Material thicknesses of up to half of an inch can be applied, and depending on the formulation, gel times as fast as two seconds are available. Unlike other coatings, which can require days to cure, polyurea can be ready for use in just hours after applying. Polyurea is VOC free and so can be used in many cases where EPA regulations prevent the use of other materials.

Polyurea is an elastomer, which means that it can be flexed as well as stretched, in some cases up to 1000%. It can also be formulated to be extremely strong, with tensile strengths greater than 2500 psi. Polyurea stands up well to many strong chemicals and is FDA approved for food preparation and storage.
